Best Memory Cards for Nikon D3300

best-memory-cards-for-nikon-d3300

Despite the fact that Nikon D3300 is an entry-level DSLR, it supports UHS-I type memory cards, meaning choosing the right card can make a big difference in file writing speeds. This applies to both continuous shooting and videos.

Our favorite memory card is the SanDisk Extreme PRO 64GB. It’s super fast (95MB/s) and affordable, plus SanDisk is the most reliable memory card company out there.

The D3300 can reach a maximum speed of around 70MB/s, so the cards we recommend below all reach those speeds. Each model also has 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB versions but it’s often better to buy a few 32GB cards instead of a big one, just in case one of the cards fail you don’t lose everything.

Our top pick: The fastest card tested with the Nikon D3300 is SanDisk Extreme PRO 32GB (95MB/s). It’s cheap, super fast and excellent for bursts, RAW shooting and videos. I don’t recommend you to get the 128GB version because it’s safer to store your images on a few smaller, separate cards. The good thing about it is if you ever upgrade, it’s still the best option for most cameras.

You can buy it at Amazon or see more reviews here.

lexar-professional-633x-32gb

The Lexar Professional 633x 32GB U3 also comes with Image Rescue 5 software (review here). Both memory card brands are fast and reliable, but the included software will save you from headaches if you accidentally delete your shots (it happens to all of us).

You can buy it at Amazon or see more reviews here.

transcend-32gb-sdhc-uhs-1

Transcend is another popular brand with more reviews on Amazon than most cards, and their Transcend 16GB UHS-I card is the cheapest option if you don’t shoot hundreds of images weekly with your D3300, as you can store a little bit over 1,500 shots on it.

You can buy it at Amazon or see more reviews here.

If you’ve found any other card, make sure it’s from a good brand like Lexar, SanDisk, Transcend or Toshiba, and that the speed is over 45MB/s (UHS-I type best as you can use it in newer cameras too).
