Nikon D7500 Advantages:

• AA Filter – The D7500 has no AA filter

• Higher ISO Range – The D7500’s ISO goes up to 5 stops higher

• LCD Screen – 3.2″ vs 3.0″

• Top LCD Display – Great when shooting in manual/semi-auto modes because you can quickly preview your settings

• Headphone Jack – Useful for monitoring audio quality while recording videos

• Max Shutter Speed – 1/8000 vs 1/4000

• Flash Sync Speed – 1/250 vs 1/160

• Startup Time – Not yet measured, but it should be around 0.5s which is 3x faster than the A6500

• Built-in Bluetooth

The D7500 has a longer battery life, way higher ISO range (but noise over 12,800 is not usable in the majority of cameras), faster startup time and max shutter speed. It’s an excellent DSLR, but it doesn’t look that special compared to the A6500. Nonetheless, bot are worth the money so it comes down to which features you prefer.

Sony A6500 Advantages:

• Megapixels – 4 more megapixels. Not a big difference unless you print really big

• Body Stabilization – 5-axis that works for both photographs and videos

• Focus Peaking – The A6500 can highlight what’s in focus. This is very useful when focusing manually

• AF Points – 425 vs 51. However, the D7500 will do a little bit better job in low light since it’s also got 15 cross-type points

• 11 vs 8fps – Great for extreme sports and wildlife

• Full HD at 120fps – Slow motion videos will look smoother

• Buffer – 231 vs 100 for JPEG and 110 vs 50 for RAW

• Built-in NFC

• Weight & Size – 240g lighter and a lot more compact

The A6500 is an amazing camera. The previous A6300 was great, but now we also have touchscreen, 5-axis body stabilization and way bigger buffer. These 3 features are something you’ll appreciate at any time you’ll be taking pictures or videos.
