Canon 80D Advantages:
- AF System – The Canon 80D has 6 less AF points, but all of its 45 are cross-type, compared to 15 on the D750.
- 7 vs 6.5fps – A very small difference, but still an advantage
- LCD Screen – It’s fully articulated unlike the D750 that can only tilt and swivel
- Touchscreen – You can tap the LCD screen on the 80D and select your focus point, as well as navigate through the menus
- Dual Pixel AF – The 80D has DPAF technology, which makes auto focusing for videos much more usable
- Faster Max Shutter Speed – 1/8000 vs 1/4000
- Buffer – 53 vs 40 for JPEG, 24 vs 10 for RAW
- Flash Sync Speed – 1/250 vs 1/200
- Built-in NFC
- Less Expensive – The 80D’s body costs around $800 less
The Canon 80D is an APS-C camera which explains the lower price. Except for the sensor size, their specifications are quite similar so if you don’t care about having a FF sensor, you might want to get the 80D. 7fps, 45 AF points, a touchscreen LCD monitor with DPAF, a bigger RAW buffer and 1/8000 for when shooting outdoors with big apertures.

Nikon D750 Advantages:
- Sensor Size – The D750 has a full frame sensor which is 1.6x bigger than the 80D’s APS-C sensor. This results in less noise at high ISO speeds and a shallower depth of field
- High ISO Range – The D750 can go down to 50 and 51,200, 1 stop more than the 80D
- LCD Size– 3.2″ vs 3.0″ with higher resolution
- Viewfinder – 100% coverage
- Dual Memory Cards – You can use 2 x SD cards which is great for having a backup card or simply using one to record videos
- Battery Life – 270 shots longer
The Nikon D750 is a fantastic DSLR, well worth its price. If you want a DSLR with a full frame sensor, great image quality and low light performance, you will love it. The 24MP sensor has more resolution than most will ever need, especially if you rarely print your images big, the high ISO range is excellent, the tilting 3.2″ monitor helps a lot and you got 2 memory card slots. It can shoot at 6.5fps and lasts long enough to cover longer events such as weddings, concerts etc. (you still need backup batteries).
