Canon 77D Advantages:
- 8 More Megapixels – Enough to make a difference when cropping a lot or printing big. For mostly sharing images online, you won’t notice a difference.
- Built-in Video Stabilization – Electronic stabilization that can be enabled for videos only. Big plus for recording with lenses that don’t have any stabilization
- AF System – The 77D may have 4 less AF points, but all 45 of those are phase-detection and cross-type. Phase is faster than contrast based, and therefore the 77D is better for moving subjects. You can of course take pictures of action with the X-T10, it’s just that the DSLR technology is better suited for this
- LCD Screen – It’s fully articulated compared to only tilting on the X-T10. The resolution is slightly higher, and the 77D supports touchscreen.
- Top LCD Display – Very useful for previewing your settings, battery life and other modes without constantly having to check the rear LCD display
- Buffer – Unlimited JPEG buffer compared to 62, and nearly identical for RAW. Honestly, 62 is already more than what most will need, but it’s still an advantage
- Flash Sync Speed – 1/200 vs /180
- Startup Time – Not measured yet, but based on its predecessor, the 77D should turn on almost a second quicker than the X-T10
- Connectivity – The 77D also has built-in NFC and Bluetooth support
- Battery Life – Almost twice as long battery life. These are studio CIPA tests with 50% flash usage so expect both to be higher, but with the same capacitiy difference
The T7i is bigger, but in return you get more megapixels, an AF system better for action, an articulating touchscreen LCD, bigger buffer and a longer battery life. Definitely worth the money.

Fujifilm X-T10 Advantages:
- 8 vs 6fps -2fps is enough to make a difference for extreme sports, but don’t forget the smaller buffer
- Focus Peaking – Every mirrorless camera offers focus peaking. If you’re focusing with a manual lens or have a bad eye sight, the camera highlights what part of your image is in focus. Great for video too!
- Viewfinder – Its coverage is 100% and what you see in the viewfinder is exactly what you get (exposure wise too). The magnification is also a little bit bigger too.
- Faster Max Shutter Speed – 1/32000 vs 1/4000
- Size & Weight – The camera is a lot smaller and lighter
- Less Expensive – Around $100 less for the body only
You should get the X-T10 if you need something compact and light. While it can also be used for sports and wildlife, it’s a perfect camera for slower paced photography.
