Canon has announced the EF-M 28mm f/3.5 Macro IS STM lens for mirrorless cameras(equivalent to 45mm). It’s quite affordable, but what do you get?

It’s a great choice for those who want a small macro lens with high quality, and it’s also got 2 built-in flash units to help you illuminate subjects close to the lens. We’ll have to see how it compares to actual macro rings, but it definitely doesn’t hurt to have some extra help! You can adjust the brightness between Bright and Dim settings.

The Stepping Motor (STM) makes sure auto focus is quiet and accurate, which is great news for those who record videos, and obviously for photographs as well. For clear shots there’s Hybrid Image Stabilization, the same one found in Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro, a much more expensive lens.

Priced at $299, the lens starts shipping in June 2016, and is available for pre-order at Amazon here.

Canon Speedlite 600EX II-RT

Compared to the older version, the new Canon Speedlite 600EX II-RT recylces 1.1 to 1.5x faster when using AA batteries, and up to 2x when using the new CP-E4N battery pack.

The zoom head flash covers from 20mm to 200mm, and its maximum Guide Number (GN) is 197 feet/60m at ISO 100. Its body is water and dust-resistant, and the multiple flash system support allows you to control up to 5 flashes in a group.

Like the macro lens above, it starts shipping in June 2016 and can be pre-ordered here at Amazon.
