Nikon D5600 Advantages:

  • LCD – 3.2″ vs 3.0″ and it’s fully articulated too.
  • JPEG Buffer Size – 100 vs 62. Useful for long bursts.
  • Max Flash Sync Speed – 1/200 vs 1/180.
  • Built-in NFC
  • Bluetooth Support
  • Battery Life – 820 shots vs 350 shots.
  • Less Expensive – The D5600 with the kit lens costs around $400 less.

Since the Nikon 5600 is cheaper, there’s not much where it beats the Fujifilm. The battery life is a lot longer, but that’s the same compared to most other mirrorless cameras out right now. The only reason we’d recommend you to go with the Nikon is if your budget is tight, or you already have some Nikon glass.

Fujifilm X-T20 Advantages:

  • ISO – 51,200 vs 25,600. Higher maximum ISO sensitivity.
  • AF Points – 325 AF Hybrid vs. 39. More means you have a lot more focus points to choose from to perfectly frame your subject. Out of those 325, 169 points are phase-detect (more accurate in low light than contrast type).
  • Continuous mode – 8fps vs 5fps. More is better for sports and wildlife since you have more chances of getting a tack sharp shot.
  • LCD Resolution – Higher resolution.
  • Focus Peaking – Very useful for seeing if your subject is in focus (both photo and video).
  • Viewfinder Coverage – 100% vs 95%.
  • Viewfinder Magnification – Higher magnification.
  • Video Resolution – 4K video available.
  • Faster Max Shutter Speed – 1/32000 vs 1/4000.
  • RAW Buffer Size – 25 vs 12.
  • Weight – The Fujifilm X-T20 weights 82g less.

The Fujifilm X-T20 is one of our favorite mirrorless cameras, perfect for both complete beginners and professionals used to other systems. It’s got an excellent 24MP sensor with ISO up to 51,,200, a Hybrid 325AF system that works much better than their previous models, and 8 frames per second. An exciting feature is also the 4K video recording, and since the camera is so small, it’s great if you want to record high resolution videos as you travel.
