Canon 5D Mark IV Advantages:
- Sensor – Newer sensor with 6 more megapixels
- More ISO Range – The lowest ISO setting is slightly lower, while the expanded one goes 1 stop higher
- Auto Focus – The 5D IV as 10 more points, and 41 of those 61 are cross-type, compared to only 15 on the D750
- 7 vs 6.5fps – Just a tad faster, you’ll only appreciate the difference when shooting for more than a few seconds straight
- LCD Resolution – The screen sports a higher resolution
- Touchscreen – The 5D IV supports touchscreen so you can navigate through the menus or select the focus point directly on the screen itself
- Dual Pixel AF – Canon’s DPAF technology results in faster and more accurate video focusing, especially for moving subjects
- 4K Video – Available in 30/25/24p
- Faster Max Shutter Speed – 1/8000 vs 1/4000
- Buffer – Unlimited JPEG buffer versus 40, 19 vs 10 for RAW
- Connections – The 5D IV features built-in GPS and NFC connections
- USB 3.0 vs 2.0 – Faster file transferring out of the camera
- Weight – The 5D IV is almost 100g lighter
By paying a lot more, you get a bump in resolution, higher ISO range, a more sophisticated AF system and 4K video.
The added connections, bigger buffer and DPAF are all nice things to have, but we recommend you to only get the Canon 5D IV if you really need the advantages.

Nikon D750 Advantages:
- LCD Screen – It’s fully articulated and better for shooting subjects below or above you
- Built-in flash
- Battery Life – 300 shots longer battery life
- Size & Weight – The D750 is smaller and weighs 140g less
- Less expensive – The D750 body costs around $1600 less
Nikon D750 is 2 years older and obviously doesn’t offer anything close to 4K video, but its video features are still pretty good. Photography wise, it’s just as an amazing camera and offers a relatively longer battery life, which is more or less its only big advantage.
Oh, it’s also more than $1600 cheaper which could get you a couple of good lenses!
