Tamron SP 85mm f/1.8 Di VC USD:

Tamron has released world’s first 85mm prime lens with Vibration Compensation (3.5 stops)! The lens will be available for Canon, Nikon and Sony (a bit later) mounts (both APS-C and Full Frame cameras), but with a higher price than a 85mm lens from any of the companies mentioned. To deliver the best image quality, color, sharpness and bokeh, Tamron used Low Dispersion (LD) and Extra Low Dispersion (XLD) elements in the construction, along with Fluorine Coating on the top element surface to make sure your finger prints (or anything else) won’t be visible.

Canon’s version weighs 700g and measures 91.3mm in length, Nikon’s weighs 660g and comes at 88.8mm. The price of the lens is currently not known, but it starts shipping on March 26th, 2016, so expect Tamron to make an update in that department pretty soon. Check out sample images here.

Tamron has updated their 90mm macro from 2012; this one’s got improved Vibration Compensation with shift compensation, 1 LD and 2 XLD elements, Ultrasonic Silent Drive for accurate and silent auto focusing and a 9-blade aperture for beautiful bokeh. Its minimum focusing distance is 30cm/11.8 inches, and it also doesn’t increase in length as it focuses.

It starts shipping in late March, and will be available for Canon, Nikon and Sony mounts for $649.00.
