With Canon and Nikon rumored to announce 3 to 4 new DSLR cameras this year, it will be interesting to see what Pentax and Sony will come up with. Based on latest information, we should see the Pentax K-60 in February at CP+ trade.

Pentax K-60 Specifications:

  • 24MP CMOS Sensor
  • PRIME III Processor
  • No low-pass filter (the new trend?)
  • 11 AF Points
  • 29k-pixel RGB Metering
  • 100% Pentaprism Optical Viewfinder
  • Light-weight and weather-sealed body
  • Body available in multiple colors
  • Built-in NFC and WiFi
  • Priced at $699.00

Take this with a grain of salt, as it hasn’t even been a full year since Pentax announced the K-50 and K-500 cameras. Then again, both Canon and Nikon announced their entry level models a bit earlier than most of us expected, with nothing “revolutionary” (the D3300 for example).

Original “leak” can be found at Xitek (Chinese).

I started Smashing Camera for various reasons, but mostly because I like photography, blogging and writing about cameras/tips. Gear wise, I use a Canon 7D with a couple of lenses.
